Our Relationship With Redken

Redken was founded in 1960 with the mission to provide clients and stylists with innovative products and beautiful results. As one of the first brands to be available in the cosmetology education system, Redken has been helping students develop and perfect their skills for decades. We love Redken because they share two of our two greatest passions: beauty and education! Our relationship with Redken can give our staff, educators, and students exclusive access to various possible benefits. These include:

  • Use of the Redken product line
  • The chance to participate in quarterly trainings from Redken stylists
  • Redken Color Fusion products and training
  • The possibility of working with The Fuel Training System created by Redken Artistic Director, Chris Baran

Beauty School Enrollment Checklist

If you’re thinking about attending beauty school at The Salon Professional Academy (TSPA), Rochester, you need to be prepared ahead of time. There a few steps you need to take before you can begin classes. We’ve created this useful beauty school enrollment checklist so you can make sure you’re 100 percent ready to get started on your education.

Do Your Research

The first thing you need to do is figure out which program you want to enroll in. Are you more interested in massage therapy or cosmetology? Choose the program you’re most passionate about and do research about it. This is a great way to make sure you’re prepared before even visiting our school. You also need to make sure you have a high school diploma or equivalency and your high school transcripts, as you’ll need these to be admitted to any of our programs.

Schedule a Tour

Scheduling a tour of our school is important. This gives you the chance to see the actual location where you would be studying. It’s also a great opportunity to ask admissions representatives and other staff members all your questions in person. There are just some things that are better-discussed face-to-face rather than over the phone or email. Your future is one of them! On a tour, you can see classrooms, the student salon training area, and take a look at at the products you’d be working with. You may also even see current students training with educators.

Apply to the Program

If you’ve done your research and toured our campus, it’s time to apply! Visit our application page to get started. You’ll need to contact us for the current enrollment application, make sure your high school and any post-high school transcripts are sent to the admissions department, and complete the online form. After this, someone will contact you to schedule an admissions interview.

Plan Your Schedule

Next, you need to decide what type of schedule works best for you. For example,  the cosmetology, massage therapy,  programs are only available full-time. If you’ve got a full-time job, or a family to take care of, part-time classes could be your best option. For those with a little more flexibility, full-time classes can allow you to jump headfirst into your education. Whichever you choose, classes at TSPA Rochester can set you on the path to a beautiful future!
